Reiki works because it addresses not only the physical symptoms of a client's condition, but more importantly the whole
range of attitudes and behaviors surrounding the condition. It also recognizes and deals with cycles of stress, anxiety, physical tension, symptoms and disease.
Client care can be greatly enhanced by incorporating complementary therapies of biofield medicine, such as Reiki, into
behavioral approaches, such as biofeedback, support groups and psychotherapy, as well as into the traditional medical approaches of drug and physical therapy.
Reiki therapy works by encouraging clients to participate more fully in their treatment plans, by decreasing stress and
pain levels, by improving overall mental/emotional states, and often results in a decreased need for pain medication.
Clients are given tools to use on their own throughout the day, thus empowering them to become more independent,
enhancing not only their quality of life, but also that of their families and/or caretakers.
Reiki is a catalyst for self healing and offers the possibility of well-being on all levels: spiritual,
mental/emotional and physical.
